Cabo to Todos Santos Surf Scene

BEST FOR: Intermediate to advanced surfers

The stretch of coastline between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos is world-renowned for its exceptional surf breaks, offering less crowded conditions compared to Northern Baja, with warmer waters.

To the north of Todos Santos, La Pastora is a right-hand point break that often reaches triple overhead, making it ideal for advanced surfers. Just 20 minutes south of Todos Santos, Playa Los Cerritos is popular among longboarders and surfers looking to camp on the beach and enjoy the warm weather day and night. Playa Pescadero offers a less crowded A-frame reef break, perfect for intermediate to advanced surfers.

Near Cabo San Lucas, Monuments is a short, spinning left-hand point break suited for experienced surfers. However, the star of the show is the world-famous Zippers near San José del Cabo, a fast right-hander known for hosting numerous surfing competitions. Other notable breaks include Shipwrecks, a punchy right-hander, and 9 Palms, a fun, fast wave ideal for progressing beginners and longboarders. When the swell is large, 9 Palms also makes for a great shortboard wave, and Derek highly recommends it over all other breaks in the Cabo area.

BEST TIME TO GO: Summer months offer the best conditions.
